How does the trip finder work?

Pick a trip length, a state, who is coming and a month. The finder shows every river we compare where at least one outfitter fits. Each card links to that river's page, which compares every outfitter.

What does family with kids mean here?

Rivers where at least one outfitter lists a minimum age of 6 or younger. Ages often rise at high water, so check the month on the river page. See family rafting trips.

What counts as first time on a river?

Rivers rated Class III or gentler, or Class III to IV- on the Main Salmon. See your first overnight trip.

What does a bed each night mean?

Rivers where outfitters offer lodge nights: the Rogue, the Upper Klamath and the Main Salmon. Some trips mix camp and lodge nights. See river lodge trips.

Why are some states empty?

We compare 19 rivers so far. Alaska and Montana pages are on the way, and we add a river only once every outfitter on it is checked.
